HALLOWEEN in Pre-K This past month the Pre-K children had their first party of the school year---Halloween. The morning class first had a chance to walk through the school to show off their costumes to each class. We ended with a special visit to Mr. Lisi’s office. The afternoon class had a pizza party and then participated in the school wide Halloween parade. The day was exciting! Below are two stories that we wrote as a class about Halloween. Each child drew what their costume looked like. Trick or Treating Fun by A.M. Pre-K
We unbutton our clothes and take them off, and then we dress in our costumes. Our costumes are sometimes scary like the hulk or pretty like a princess. The hulk’s mask looks mean and spooky. The princess has gold sparkles like stars shining in the night. We walk on the sidewalks with our flashlights. We have large pumpkin baskets or colorful Halloween bags to put the candy in. We’re looking for houses with lights on outside them. We knock on the doors or ring the doorbells and we wait to say, "Trick-or-Treat". We scream it! The people come out and give us lots of candy. We say thank you and go to the next door. When we get home we dump out our candy and see what we got. We eat some and save the rest. We go to sleep because we are tired. We had fun!
Halloween Parties by P.M. Pre-K
We love Halloween. It is fun! We get to go to spooky and freaky costume parties with our friends. We eat crunchy and sweet candy corns at the party. We eat yummy cookies that are shaped like pumpkins. They have sprinkles on them. There are silly ghosts and scary, ugly bats on balloons. Children are dressed like witches, skeletons, and princesses. The witches have black clothes on. They carry broomsticks and have green make-up on their faces. The skeletons have costumes with white bones. They look scary. The princesses are wearing long pink dresses with purple sparkles. They wear crowns with jewelry. After our great party we’re off to trick-or-treat with our Mommy’s and Daddy’s. We can’t wait. It is going to be so much fun!
