Quebec

& Te'var

It was a cool windy day in Pittsburgh, New Hampshire. We had been planning for months to take a journey all around the country of Canada. We had planned to start in Quebec. From Dennistown, Maine we went to Quebec City which is the capital of Quebec. We visited the Old Port of Quebec. It was a beautiful sight. The water was crystal clear and was like a big mirror reflecting everything it touched. During our drive through Quebec a young man told us about the province symbols. The province bird is the beautiful Snowy Owl. The province flower is the White Garden Lily; another name for it is the Madonna lily. Quebec's motto is "Je me souviens" which means, "I remember." We went to Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort. The skiing is great in the winter but since it was summer we were able to enjoy a gondola ride to the summit, play some golf, and even go paragliding. One thing that we noticed that is almost everyone spoke French. Good thing we had Tevar around because he was an expert at French.
Next we went to Trois-Rivieres. We took a boat ride. It was peaceful and exciting. We saw some ducks gliding in the water. We went rafting later and had so much FUN! The water was white with foam. While we were looking at the sun setting on the horizon, a tour guide told us that Quebec is ranked second in population and ranked third in size. We were really amazed about Quebec's population. She also told us that more than 7,410,500 people live in Quebec. We slept in tents at night because we wanted to sleep in the cold outdoors.
In the morning we went to Montreal. We went to La Chronique for breakfast and had waffles, apple cider, and maple syrup popsicles. It was yummy! Then it was off to play some golf at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. We had so much fun. Anita shot the lowest score. Next we went to Mont-Royal Park. We had so much fun on our walking tour of the park it was fantastic! In the winter, people cross-country ski on their trails. Then we went to see an opera at the L'Opera de Montreal. Everything was in Italian but we could tell the story by the way the singers acted and the ticket master gave us a copy of the story in English. We spent the night at a beautiful hotel in downtown Montreal. The next day we all woke up early and saw the sun rise. We walked around saw things we never noticed before. Chris noticed the White Garden Lily in the park. It was really pretty. We enjoyed the sun shining in our faces and the warm air tickling our cheeks. The road was kind of bumpy but we were fine with that. For the last time I was enjoying the Quebec air. Then we got on the bus and moved on. Quebec was spectacular but it was time to move on. Ontario is our next stop. I wonder what will happen next?
