Chapter 10
By Sonia

Sarah woke up early the next morning asking me to teach her how to ride a horse. Caleb and I went to the stable to get the horses.

I got on Old Bess and Sarah got on Jack. I taught her to trot. By the time she learned how to trot, it was lunch time.

Sarah toasted bread and made stew. It was good. After lunch I tried to teach Sarah how to gallop, it was pretty hard.

Sarah was a fast learner. She was doing fine until one day she fell off. I ran over to her. Her ankle was sprained. When I looked at Jack he was jumping back and forth when I looked on the ground I saw a snake. Papa saw what was going on through the window. He rushed outside and helped Sarah come inside. For a couple of days she could not walk very well. Caleb and I made a get well card using the colors of the sea. Sarah felt much better, and she was happy.
