During the time of Henry Ford, the Ford Motor Company and the Model T changed into what is now known as today’s cars. Here are some facts about Ford Motor Company’s history. The company was first organized in 1903. Henry Ford made a lot of progress with the Model T. However, it was a slow business because it took at least an hour to make one Model T. Henry created an assembly line that produced a completed Model T in less time. The Ford family controlled the company until 1956. In that same year, in the month January, the foundation sold 10,200,000 shares of the company. By 1998, 6.8 million cars had been produced. Soon the company became the second largest automotive manufacturer in the world. Over the years the Model T was modified. For example, Model T's became buses, ambulances, and other cars used today. The Model T was first available in a variety of colors like black or blue, but soon was only made available only in black. The Model T was found to have had weak oil lamps, manufacturers changed these weak lamps to electric head lights. Soon the Model T and other automobiles changed peoples’ lives. As easier methods of transportation became available, migration became easier. People began to move to the country. So many people went to the country they had to build more roads and create the first highway systems. All of this relocation made Detroit, Michigan the worldwide center of the automobile industry. Today many highways and road systems have been developed because of the production of the automobile. Ford Motor Company has since ended its production of the Model T but has continued to produce different types and styles of cars. They are more efficient, run faster, drive smoother and have longer lasting batteries. Thanks to Henry Ford’s invention of the car, Ford Motor Company has expanded his original model into today’s automobiles. For more information:
