Haiku Poems

 

 

In February we studied about the Olympics, countries of the world and Japan. We learned about Haiku. A Haiku is a Japanese lyric poem that has three lines. The first line has five syllables, the second has seven syllables, and the last has five syllables. The poem doesn't rhyme and usually is about nature or the seasons.

A Frog's Life

A frog on wet ground
going ribbit all the time
until the frog dies.

Dog on a Bed

Dog lays on a bed
Sleeping in silence by the fire
Do not wake it up.

Kittens are Born

The kittens are born,
They get out of the basket,
To cuddle around me.

In the Deep Forest
