Dear Mom,

Uruguay is very beautiful. The temperature here has been very warm. Actually, cold weather is almost unknown. You should bring shorts, T-shirts, bathing suits and light clothes. The in best city to live in is Montevideo. It has the lowest crime rate of all the other cities in Uruguay. Some of the religions are Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish. They have the same religions as in the United States.

As we drive through the countryside, we will see farms with crops such as wheat, corn, rice and sorghum. There is also livestock and fishing.

Some things that Urugauyanas like to do for fun are attending cultural events, going to the beach and playing futbol(which means soccer). Horsemanship is a tradition in Urugauy. Some ways of greeting others are hola, which means hi. Como andas, which means how's it going. Also Buen dia means good day. (The land in the south contains grassy rolling plains, except for marshland on the atlantic coast. the elevation above sea level is 377 meters.)

In Urugauy you would eat a light breakfast such as coffe and bread with butter. Lunch is big and filling, workers usually come home for that meal if they can. Dinner is very late at nine or ten o'clock at night. Some eating habits and manners are: the fork goes in the left hand and the knife in the right hand. It is considered rude to keep your hand below the table while eating. It is common to wipe yor plate with bread when you finish eating any meal. I can't wait to see you mom!

Love you always and forever,
Ana Teresa *J ~L *

P.S. I can’t wait to see you!
