Dear Mom and Dad,
I am having a great time in Puerto Rico! The weather is GREAT it is not too
hot and not too cold. But there are not too many natural resources here, but there is a
great variety of landforms! Some of the landforms are lush rain forests, long sandy
beaches lined with palm groves and small mountain ranges that cross the center of the
island from east to west.
The population might be a little too much for you Mom because we live in a small town but I think you can handle it. If you want to know, the population is it is 3,828,506. The languages are English and Spanish. Well Dad, you don't have to pack any long underwear. In January, the temperature reaches 73° F and in July it reaches 81° F so really you only have to wear summer clothes the whole year. Mom, now is the time to get your tan. North Carolina is nothing like this and think we only go there for a week! We're staying in Puerto Rico the whole year!
Guess what? You won't have to exchange your money Mom, because the money is the same. Puerto Rico is part of the USA. Mom, you can still send letters to Kathy because the stamps are mostly the same. I thought you would like that.
I think we should live in San Juan. Here are some reasons to move there, for starters, San Juan is Puerto Rico's capital. It is a mix of American hotels, small streets and Old Spanish buildings. Old San Juan is a lovely city. The homes from the 17th and 18th centuries have been knocked down. Now they are now craft shops, small museums and restaurants.
One of the attractions is El Morro in Old San Juan. El Morro is where people stayed to be protect San Juan from attacks by French and English Buccaneers in the 16th century. So I really think we should live in San Juan.
There is certain part of the year that you guys should come to Puerto Rico. Because there is a major traffic jam with tourism in the summer so in the summer it will be a bit more people! There are also frequent hurricane watches. We will have to be prepared for the hurricanes. But that is my guess, not mother natures.
I also think Kerry will love it here because there are lots of kids for her to play with and good schools here.
Well I got to run see ya soon. Buh bye.
Love your daughter,
Caitlin
