I've been in Lima the capital of Peru for a week so far. There are many people here. The population is 24,523,403 people. The people here speak Spanish. They make their money by fishing, mining, and food processing. The minerals they mine are copper, silver, gold, iron, and oil. The people also grow corn, tomato, apples, cacao, and squash. However the people in Peru have many health problems. One problem is that some people have rabies. You get rabies by getting bitten by sick animals. Another problem is yellow fever. You get yellow fever from a mosquito bite. Still another problem is cholera. This is a stomach problem that causes vomiting.

On June 24, we will celebrate Country Man's Day. I hope you will be here for the celebration.

Love your daughter,

Aisha C. Mulrain
