Hi, Mom and Dad. I am really looking forward on you guys coming up to Haiti. When you come up remember to buy and bring a lot of bug spray because of all the bugs and mosquitoes. If you don’t the mosquitoes can bite you and give you diseases like Dengue Fever. That’s transmitted by mosquito bites in around dawn or dusk. There is also Yellow Fever. This is transmitted by a mosquito bite most active at evening hours. There is also Malaria which is a parasitic infection transmitted by a mosquito bite. These mosquitos bite from dusk to dawn.

The climate here is great. It is nice and cool and mostly warm and hot. The water is beautiful and very rarely cool or cold. The people are very nice know matter where you are from either America, France, or even Japan or any other country or state. The language down here is Haitian language called Creok even though you think the language is French 90% of the population speak Creok and 10% or 20% of the people speak French.

If you are wondering what the capital is it is Port-au-Prince. Port-au-Prince is like a city but with barely any buildings and a lot of water and big log cabins right on the water. There are also a ton of beaches such as Halico Beach that goes all the way up half the coast of Haiti.

You need to bring some of my schoolwork because the schools are very low and people don’t go from the ages 7 to 12 years old. The parents also don’t really care if their children don’t go to school or do anything but help their parents work sometimes.

Sincerely your son,

Jason

PS: I think you’ll love it down here.
