Dear Mom and Dad,

I am now in the capitol city of El Salvador (San Salvador). I have chosen San Salvador for the city we will stay for a year because it has many places to visit and it is very beautiful. Since it is warm all year you can where comfortable cloths. And you could wear them in the street. The food in El Salvador is not as spicy as other countries. One of the dishes is " pupusa," a cornmeal cake stuffed with beans, bacon cheese and spice leaves. Another one is "frijoles," black beans, thick tortillas, rice, eggs and fruit.

I must warn you do not drink the water! Believe me you can get really sick. You could drink bottled water, soda, tea and coffee but stay away from milk and juice. Also it is a good idea to get an insurance policy to cover medical problems and robbery.

Some of the places to visit, that I thought where the best, are the Devils Doorway, los Planes Lookout point, and my favorite the National Zoo. Some of the popular activities are white water rafting, and sea kayaking. Since the main Language is Spanish I suggest you bring your Spanish Dictionary.

Love,
Elena
