One fine day, my mom went out in the Gulf of Mexico
to get some assorted food. As usual, she gets shrimp, fish, and small crabs. All of a
sudden, a net flew out in front of her. However, mom swam out of its way and was able to
escape. While she was wondering who was that horrible person who tried to catch her, she
got caught in another net. Dad, Kemp and Ridley did not know what was happening. The Kemp
Ridley Turtle family became very worried about her when she did not return home.
The next day, dad decided to take a swim to find mom. Then a huge boat threw a gigantic net in the water. He swam as fast as he could to get away, but he was not fast enough. Soon Ridley came and he saw his dad in the net and he ran home in fright.
Later, he got home and told Kemp what he saw. That night Ridley and Kemp could not sleep. So Kemp sneaked out of the house to see if he could find the rest of his family, but could not find them so he decided to go home. He cried himself to sleep when he got home. The next day Ridley and Kemp went to the final place that they thought their mom and dad might be. They found the boat, and their mom and dad, so they tried to get them free. Suddenly, the sailors that were there chased them. They were so ugly they would destroy a mirror. They swam to another net where a lot of fish and turtles were being held. They thought their parents might be in there so they opened it. They bite it because mom was 100 lbs. and its big for a Kemps Ridley Turtle but small for other and finally got it opened and they found their mom and dad. They ran away and went home to eat. Later that day they where watching Television and the sailor that captured the mother and father was terrified in what he had saw. They went to bed and mother had to go on the shore by the Gulf of Mexico to deposit her eggs in the sand. She deposited her eggs in the sand and went about. She went in the water and never came back to her family again.
