I snuck out of my home to find out what it was. All I could hear was thud, thud, thud and a different sound. It was like something moving. The strange sound got gradually louder, until I saw a big machine cutting down our forest. I ran back and told papa and asked if he could call a forest meeting. So he did. Everyone was curious why Michael wanted a meeting.

Michael said, "Attention please! That loud sound you’ve been hearing is a big machine cutting down our South American forest."

"What are we going to do?" said mamma iguana. "We will have nothing to eat because all of our food grows on trees. All of our shoots, fruits, flowers and leaves will be gone and maybe even us."

We will have to make a plan. But before we make a plan we will have to watch out for predators, such as humans, dogs, and cats. We will have to find new rocky areas because the machine ruined our home. Okay, now everyone follow me and if you don't you might be in great jeapordy.

Oh great this is the perfest area to live. Okay here is the plan. Did you ever notice that sign on the trees. If someone kills any of the animals you will get a 5,000 dollar fine.

So where ever that big machine goes. A group of animals will block it. Then we will keep on going with the plan until they give up.

We did the plan every thing worked out very well. The workers gave up. Then a team of workers who were against cutting down the forest helped the forest. They talked to the workers. They told them how important the trees were. They told them how the trees gave us oxygen, food and medicine.

So the workers realized how important the forest was. They decided to donate all the trees to a factory. The factory was very happy and decided to make furniture. They donated the money they made from selling the furniture to the forest group that planted new trees. The animal population was decreasing so they thought this might help them stay alive.
