Where's Sally? One day in the clear blue water off the Gulf of Mexico a family of Kemp's Ridley Turtles were eating a bunch of sea plants. Sally the youngest turtle, was very bored. She wasn't interested in plants, she wanted adventure! But her brothers and sisters were just hungry, they wanted a bigger meal! They wanted shrimp or fish, but Sally just wanted adventure. Soon a school of fish came swimming by. Then the whole family went swimming after them so Sally just followed. Then Sally saw a crab, which was her favorite meal, and went swimming after it. Soon Sally decided not to eat the crab but to follow it instead. She did and got quite an adventure, which was what she wanted. Soon Sally got lost and tried to find her way home. That night her parents were very worried about Sally and saying how worried they were that she would get caught in a shrimp net. They were also worried that their nesting grounds would be destroyed and they would not be able to have another baby. They were already the most endangered marine turtle. Soon they werent so worried because they realized that she wasnt a little 4 cm. turtle anymore, but a 4 in. turtle that is almost fully grown. The next day Sally found her way back to the same plants she was eating with her family the day before and then saw her family there, looking for her. Then she suddenly realized she didn't get any adventure that day and she still wanted some, so she was about to go but then she decided to take a rest. |
