One day two rusty red Florida panthers named Bud and Sandy were walking through a forest in south Florida. They were looking for a place to dig their den. They had been walking for many days.

One morning Bud and Sandy were eating breakfast, when a loud rumble interrupted their raccoon feast. It stopped and they didn't pay any attention to it. A few days later they dug their den and had three baby panthers. They were so overwhelmed. But then something horrible happened. Word spread that a bulldozer also known as the "Yellow Monster" was going to cut down the forest. Everybody started to flee the forest. Except the Panthers, they thought it was ridiculous.

A few nights later when the panthers were feeding on a small deer, they heard a bulldozer getting louder and louder. Again they paid no attention to it. Until the bulldozer had their three baby panthers cornered. They wanted to help, but what could two 140-pound panthers do against a 4ton bulldozer. Then something amazing happened. The bulldozer driver got out of the bulldozer and started crying. He never wanted to kill the animals. He just wanted to make a living. The three panthers ended up living. The Yellow Monster never came back. Yet the panthers were still cautious about the monster. And they lived happily ever after.

To this day Florida Panthers are still endangered. But they will never be forgotten.
