California Condor
by Paul Boyd
One
day a person named David was walking around the pacific coast of California. He
looked at the sky and saw a grayish brown colored bird. He was scared and
sighed.
Flying though the sky was a big California Condor. It had skin on its head that was entirely bare and a yellowish color. It was sitting on a tall grayish rock. It was eating on a dead carcass. It gets it food by circling with its wings. The bird looked like it just woke up.
It looked like it can weigh up to 24 to 25 pounds. Its winspan was about 9 to 10 feet long. Its wings were spreaded out and were a brownish color.
So David went home and told his father. Then his father wanted to hunt it. So he took hours trying to find that bird.
He found it he tried to shoot it but he missed. Because it's lightning speed and its swiftness. It got away and hid somewhere. Then he found it again.
He tried to shoot it again but he missed again.
So David's dad just didn't give up. Then he tried to kill it with a knife but the California Condor was nowhere to be found. So he said," I can't find that stupid bird"! So when he found the bird it had a mate so he decided not to kill it. So he decided to leave it alone.
