One
day I went on a trip to Arizona for summer vacation. I rented a house in the
desert. I went to town and bought a remote control truck. Then I went home and
played with the remote control truck in the sand.
I heard a hiss behind the rock in the backwoods. It was a baby Arizona ridge-nosed rattlesnake. I named it Ratty because of its rattle. He went out and brought back a small black footed ferret and ate it down to the carcass. Two evil men named Jack and Bob almost caught Ratty. Luckily he used his poisonous hiss that scared them away. They got arrested because they tried to steal my own property.
The next morning I measured him. He grew 2 inches. Now he is almost one foot long! I looked up some research and found out that it was the state reptile of Arizona. Then I found out that there was only 5 left in the world! Two were in the United States and 3 in Mexico and I had one of them in the United States. I was excited to hear, but I didn't want to lose him. On the news Jack and Bob got out of jail. I got worried about them stealing him.
That night I heard Ratty hiss. I woke up and Jack and Bob stole him. I called the police to send out a search party to find them. The police followed them into their log cabin. They got arrested, but we didn't find Ratty!
The next morning I heard Ratty in the backwoods and she was having babies. What is sort of funny, I thought Ratty was a boy not a girl. Then I named it Lila. The eggs hatched at 4:00p.m. The hottest part of the day because the get very warm there was an average of five snakes. Also I named one Ratty, second is hissy and the third one is Wiggles, and the last one Booson. My trip was almost over. I watched the news and Jack and Bob were in jail for life because for stealing and when they get out they do it all over again.
The animal museum called and asked me if they could have one and I said NO!
I went back to New York with the snakes. Hissy died because of the pressure in the plane. I bought a big cage for them with a heat light to survive, also bought a lot of plump mice. Also, I got them the fake water pond and the gravel. I guess they liked it.
The city was excited to hear I have an Arizona ridge nosed rattlesnake. The Times newspaper did a story about me and my snakes, Lila grew to 2 feet long.
Still today I have Ratty, Wiggles, Lila, and Booson
