The Hummingbird

There are more than 300 different kinds of species of hummingbirds. It is one of the smallest birds. It is mostly found in the tropics.
The hummingbird has shiny feathers that are colorful, and has tiny legs, feet, and arms.
The hummingbird is only 5 inches long. Many hummingbirds come in colors like blue, green, grey, white, yellow, and black.
The hummingbird is often found on the edge of woodlands. They are normally found in north or South America. Hummingbirds live up high where the temperature drops dramatically. It lives by flowers so it can get the nectar from the flowers. They feed on flower nectar, insects, and spiders.
The hummingbird behaves differently from other birds. The hummingbird rotates its wings while flying. It flies darting from flower to flower. The hummingbird eats twice its weight everyday. It uses its beak for protection when it’s getting attacked.
The Hummingbird is one of the most interesting birds because of its size, location in the tropics, and its behavior.
