The Komodo Dragon
The Komodo dragon is the largest lizard in the world. The Komodo dragon has a sense of smell that enables it to smell up to 5 miles. It seeks out dead rotting animals flesh. Despite its size the komodo is fast moving and agile. The Komodo dragon is the largest lizard in the world. Its body is huge and long. This enormous creature weighs as much as 375 pounds and is almost 9 feet long. Although it has light green coloring, it has dark features like its eyes. The dark eyes are on the side of its head with a long nose that is separate from its eyes.
The Komodo dragon natural habitat is extremely harsh by human standards. It only lives in Komodo Island, and some smaller island around Indonesia in South East Asia. There temperature of the island is around 85 degrees. These islands are volcanic and have steep slopes. There is little available water. The dragons are usually found in the lower parts of the forest and savanna.
In the wild Komodo dragon are generally solitary animals. The Komodo dragon’s teeth are similar to shark teeth and they are positioned to bite a big piece of your body off. It gets activity and gets food by climbing in trees to eat insects, birds, eggs, small mammals and other reptiles.
Now you can see that the Komodo dragon weighs too much and if you go to an island don’t go to Komodo Island because it is extremely harsh by human standards.
