The Mystery in the Mitten
"Ouch!" I said, as I tripped over a hidden log covered in snow. As
I got up spotted a green and red striped mitten. Just then the mitten moved!
There was a little creature hiding inside it. The frightened critter had a log
fuzz ball tail. As I looked closely I noticed its small black football shaped
eyes. The furry beast had a nut in its mouth. It was a little bigger than a
chipmunk. The cute animal crawled out of the mitten and that’s when I saw its
long, round ears. The nut cracker's fur was reddish orange with a lot of white in
its chest. As I looked closer it seemed a little fat. I still did not know what
it was but I gasped when it started climbing a tree. The fuzzy animal glided
from tree to tree very softly. That is when I found out it was a! It was getting dark in the woods so I picked up
the mitten and started home.
