Georgia O'Keefe
Georgia O'Keefe
was born on 1887 and she died on 1986. She grew up in Sun
Prairie, Wisconsin. She spent a few years working as a commercial
artist in Chicago. Then she went to Texas to teach art. She
married Alfred Stieglitg a famous photographer. He saw how
talented she was and gave Georgia her first exhibition. O'Keefe
paintings are realistic and abstract at the same time. She
painted images of flowers, mountains, and skyscrapers. By the
time she died in 1986 at the age of 99, she was recognized as the
greatest American woman artist of the century. Then she moved to
Mexico to paint her paintings.
