Washington Internship Experience

 

The Washington Workshops arranges the Congressional Internships on Capitol Hill or politically related office assignments.  The program can be taken in three week or longer segments starting June 15 extending through July 26. 

 

While in Washington, participants experience college living and dining on the campus of Marymount University in nearby Arlington, Virginia.  Daily transportation is  provided to and from office assignments.  Workshop personnel serve as residential mentors at the university throughout the program, around the clock.

University of Delaware

University Honors Program

Summer College

(for current Sophomores and Juniors)

This summer, spend a productive 5 weeks at the University of Delaware!  Join approximately 125 motivated high school sophomores  and juniors from across the country.  These students live together in a state-of-the-art air-conditioned residence hall while taking freshman-level college courses for UD credit.  Students choose from an array of challenging courses taught by University professors.

 

In addition to classes, Summer College participants enjoy day trips to major metropolitan areas up and down the East

Coast, as well as Delaware’s glittering beaches.  Recreational facilities, including two ice skating rinks, fitness centers, and swimming pools, as well as a six-acre library, dining halls, and student centers, are available.  Students dine together, take on responsibilites of living away from home, and gain an understanding of what lies ahead as college students.

Summer Institute for the Gifted

 

 

For more than 20 years, SIG has been offering the highest quality summer opportunities for academically advanced students at some of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the nation.

 

In 2008, residential sessions for students in grades 7 through 11 will be held at Princeton University. Residential sessions for students in grades 4 through 11 will be held at

Amherst College, Bryn Mawr College, Emory University,

UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Michigan and Vassar College.  A new session at the University of Texas at Austin

will highlight math and sciences.

 

SIG brings together outstanding students from across the country who are excited about learning and thrilled to be with like-minded students who share their interests and  talents.  They have the opportunity to study not just traditional subjects, but they also might want to Search for Life in Outer Space, consider Global Climate and Global Change, or investigate the Secrets of Symbols.

Career Explorations – Summer Internships for High School Students – CE offer high school students the opportunity to explore career fields in four and five week summer internships in Boston and New York.

Interns gain real-world work experience, learn new skills, make industry contacts, obtain letters of recommendation, and become prepared to make important decisions about college and the future.

 

Beyond the internship experience, CE offers career and college workshops, optional college tours and SAT preparation, community service projects, and

opportunites to explore Boston and New York City in depth.  CE arranges a diverse calendar of evening and weekend activities including live theater, concerts, group dinners, sporting events, museum visits, shopping, and more.  They also provide housing and meals in state of the art college dormitories.
