GUIDANCE BULLETIN

Senior Transcripts

Final meetings were held with all of the seniors and their respective guidance counselors.  Surveys were completed as well as final transcript requests for the college students will be attending this coming fall.  Each student was provided a copy of Taking the Next Step, a guide to help seniors with their transition from high school.  Final arrangements and warm wishes were shared.  It was a pleasure working with all the soon-to-be graduates throughout their four years.  They will truly be missed.  Don’t forget to visit!

Summer Plans

Summer is just around the corner.  If students still do not have plans and are looking for educational or recreation opportunities, be sure to stop by the guidance office for information regarding summer courses or enrichment programs.

Summer school registration is limited to very few high schools this year.  If your child did not successfully pass a course this year, your child should see his or her guidance counselor immediately following the end of the school year to obtain information and registration materials.  Most summer school registration concludes by the end of June, with classes beginning as early as July 1, 2008.

Rachel’s Challenge

A special presentation sponsored by SEPTA and the PHS Guidance Department will take place on the first day of classes September 4, 2008 for all students.  In the evening the same program will be presented to all parents of the district.  Please plan ahead to attend this program.  It is one you won’t want to miss.  It is a program put together by the parents of one of the students who was killed in the Columbine shooting and addresses the issue of diversity and accepting all students no matter what their differences.
