COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Orchestra is an elective course which is part of the regular school curriculum. Students attending school on any given day are expected to be present in their first period class. Please do not schedule extra help or health appointments during this time and on the day before concerts. For reasons of safety, any unexcused absence must be reported. Each student must bring a note to the director if they are late to class or have an unexcused absence.

Each orchestra student is expected to:

1.      Attend all rehearsals and lessons on time and ready to play.

2.      Be prepared with instrument and music.

3.      Improve instrumental technique through individual practicing.

4.      Perform in all concerts.

5.      Cooperate fully with the director and fellow instrumentalists.

A student’s grade for this course will be based upon meeting these course requirements.

Working together as a team of students, parents and teacher, we look forward to a rewarding and successful year in the Orchestra.
