Classroom Expectations:

Ø      ALL students must keep a daily art Journal  and write a short critique  each weekend

Weekly - 5 entries = P or PH  /  3 entries  = Satisfactory  /  less than 3  = Unsatisfactory

- ART EXPECTATION SHEET 2007-08 TO SIGN AND RETURN

Please return to Mrs. Moss by______________________________

I have read the Art Quint Expectation Sheets  and will expect my child to satisfactorily fulfill his/her requirements

I understand that the Art Journal is a very important part of the Art experience.   Approximately 10 minutes per night is expected whether my child is in class or not.

All work done in class must be handed in to successfully pass Art.  Those students who will be pulled out from class on a regular basis will have classroom requirements adjusted accordingly.

** all 8th graders will have one larger project at the end of the quint which I consider to be a culmination of many skills learned in Middle School Art.  It also supports the understanding of Modern Art, a part of the Art History component of our Art Curriculum.

I UNDERSTAND THAT ALL WORK IS GRADED ON EFFORT AND COMPLETION OF TASKS.

BOTH STUDENT AND PARENT NEED TO SIGN BELOW. Thank You,    Mrs. Moss

It is my hope that all students and parents will expect to see a pass or pass with honors on the report card If your child consistently has 3 or less Journal Entries, that will be indicated on your Final Critique Sheet.  Please check the journals each weekend  and urge your child to  complete at least 3 weekly with a critique..  If your child is doing less than that, expect a call from me!

Student Name___________________________QUINT______________Grade________

Pass or Pass with Honors   -  My child will have all 5 entries weekly  ( Mon - Fri) labeled with day and date… PLUS write a short critique on the weekend.

Satisfactory  -  My child will complete 3 entries weekly ( with day and date) PLUS write a short critique on the weekend.

Unsatisfactory – My child will complete less than 3 entries weekly ( with day and date) PLUS

write a short critique on the weekend.

FAIL – My child does not hand in a journal.

I have read the ART Expectation and Goal Sheets and MARKED MY CALENDAR for  the FINAL Parent Journal Critique Sheet.  That will be my only notice of missing work.   I understand that my child has 5 days after receiving the report card to complete the missing work to change a FAILING grade.
