Sending An Email Message to Your Legislators
Encourage teachers and library media specialists to send emails to legislators reminding them to restore funding cut from libraries and increase the Library Materials Aid from $6 per pupil to $9 per pupil.
How to send your message
Step One: Go to http://www.nysut.org/
Under (left side of screen)
Step Two: Select - Contact Your Elected Officials
Step Three: Select - email State Legislator (left side of screen) (not fax - the fax letter is only set-up for specific issues at this time). Fill in your contact information and message then click Send Letter. What is the message? Restore funding cut from libraries and increase the Library Materials Aid from $6 per pupil to $9 per pupil.
