Two workshops will be held on the online databases offered through the School Library System. On Thursday, March 10th at 1:00 P.M. Rob Karen, WALDO Account Specialist, will demonstrate and discuss those databases that are suitable for middle/secondary school libraries. On Tuesday, March 22nd at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Karen will demonstrate and discuss those databases that are suitable for elementary school libraries. Both sessions will be held at the School Library System, 2 Westchester Plaza, Elmsford, New York 10523.
Part of the presentation will focus on redesign of the MULTI-PALS package of databases to more accurately meet the research needs of students and complement the databases available through NOVEL. The concept of federated searching, its impact on bibliographic instruction and availability as part of the MULTI-PALS package, will also be discussed.
