Description (September 3, 2002)
Wild Kingdom - This companion website to Mutual of Omaha's wildlife documentary series features games, activities and fun facts for kids and lesson plans for teachers, video clips from episodes and information about conservation and vanishing wildlife. This TV season the program will premier on the Animal Planet in six original hour-long specials. Each special will focus on a specific animal or habitat, covering six continents with environs ranging from deserts below sea level in Africa to sub-freezing escarpments 16,000 feet high in the Himalayas.

Classroom Integration

• View the video clips when studying different species of wildlife in their natural habitat. Assign a video clip to each student and have them take notes present interesting facts they learned.
  
  
• Involving students in ways to use the Earth's resources responsibly can be the beginning of a lifelong interest for them. Have students participate in a poll at the American Zoo and Aquarium Association website. Have your students design a environmental poll for other classes, the results can be tallied, graphed and published.
