Go West Young Artist A site designed by Educational Web Adventures, this in-depth simulation, provides layers of information in a journey through the Western frontier. While exploring the land and the lives of several landscape artists in the 1870s, players can pause to dig deeper to learn more about the artists and art styles that shaped our views of theWest. Additional layers explore the history of Western expansion This ArtEdventure is a journey back in time where you'll meet half a dozen great American artists and learn about their work.

The EduWeb Team brings visual and narrative creativity, accuracy and sound educational practices to their web sites.

Classroom Integration
  • Meet such landscape artists as Albert Bierstadt, Frederick Church, John Constable and discuss their techniques. How accurate was their portrayal of the West.

  • Western landscape art portrayed a stylized view of the frontier, How does art impact perception, read this examination of the Nature of the American Identity. Students can draw a landscape which depicts their interpretation of the West.
