Holiday Traditions - This companion site to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry's exhibition, Christmas around the World and Holidays of Light, will help you discover new customs and celebrations. At  the website you can tour many of the world's countries and learn how each culture celebrates the holiday season.

Classroom Integration

• Design an online game matching a culture to its holiday decoration. Use your electronic whiteboard in this whole group game.
  
  
• Design an Inspiration/Kidspiration map grouping the types of decoration cultures have in common.
  
  
• Choose a decoration and describe its symbolism to its culture.
  
  
• Create a timeline of toy history.
  
  
• Design your own virtual museum of toys. Decide which toys to choose, what criteria to use, and what would be the focus of their display - their history, culture, design?
