| Your Task
|
| You will work with a "family" to document for future generations how World War Two affected life in England. Your team will develop a scrapbook illustrating your family's experience as British citizens from 1939-1945. |
| Choose a family name! |
| 1. Pick a name from the list or make one up | |
| 2. Write your family name on your group folder |
There are many different types of families. Your family might be made up of a father, mother, two children, and a grandparent all living together, or you might be a young married couple living with an elderly grandparent who has taken in an evacuee or two from London. You can use Good Night, Mr. Tom to help you decide of what members your family will be made up.
|
|
| Remember, each family member, no
matter how old or young, will contribute to the family scrapbook in order
to create a full picture of your family's experience of the war. |
|
| This process will lead you to answer the Big Question. |
How did World War Two affect life in England?

| By
answering the Big Question through completing this webquest, students
will: |
|
| Work collaboratively to
plan, research, and present their findings |
|
| Work independently using
a rubric and a web activity as a guide |
|
| Develop guiding questions
in order to focus research |
|
| Work collaboratively with
teammates to gather data from a variety of sources |
|
| Experience the life of an
individual in another time and place and communicate that experience to
others |
|
| Connect historical knowledge to a work of literature by analyzing said literature for its historical accuracy | |
You will accomplish these goals by being an active and responsible member of a team. You will work individually to research and create your character by writing/illustrating his or her pages of the family scrapbook. You will also need to choose a job within the group to help create your family scrapbook.
