“Grandpa Tucker’s Poetry Archive” has poems listed by
themes – funny stuff, short stuff, school, summer, etc.
By Poet

“Favourite Poetry” includes links to pages including poetry
by different poets. Nikki Giovanni’s poems are here, so I’m partial
to this site.
Kristine George:
If you scroll about halfway down this page there is a section entitled “Read
Some of the Poems From My Books.” There are selected poems here, and Miss
Blake has several of these books in her room if you’re interested in reading
more! You can also click on the cover of a book and find out what inspired Kristine
O’Connell George to write those poems. A very fun site!

Not a huge list, but there are some good poems here. Click on the title of the
poem to read it.
Funny Poems

http://www.gigglepoetry.com Bruce
Lansky’s website, these poems are usually funny but always a lot of fun
to read! He has links to school poems, poems of the day, etc.
http://www.poetry4kids.com Ken Nesbitt’s
website, these are once again mostly funny poems. Click on the “Cool Kids
Poetry Links” for some other great poetry sites!
More Advanced
http://www.poets.org/poems/: This
site has over 1200 poems and is a good place to start your search. You may search
for a poem by first line or by poet name. Most of the poems are of a high quality.
http://eserver.org/poetry The EServer
Poetry Collection has a solid list of poems, listed by poet. Many of them are
very well known although not always so easy to read. These are for more advanced
poetry seekers.
General Search Engines
If you know a line of a poem but not the title or author, you can type it into
one of these search engines and it might ‘magically’ appear! (Put
the line, or part of the line, in quotation marks in the search box to make
sure it searches for the whole line rather than just a few words.)
