| What
is a blog? |
Weblogs
or blogs allow millions of people to easily publish their ideas, and
millions more to comment on them. They concern every topic from travel,
to audio to politics. They take advantage of the fact that the Internet
is free, unfiltered, and easily accessible. Instead of being passive
consumers of information, more and more Internet users are becoming
active participants. Weblogs let everyone have a voice. |
| How do they connect
to politics and government? |
Open
source politics is a term used to describe a political
process that uses Internet
technologies such as blogs
and email
to provide for a rapid feedback mechanism between political organizations
and their supporters. James Dean brought this medium to the forefront.
Now a number of activist groups use this method to gather input
and support. |
