Third Grade

Our Third Graders are off to a terrific start! They are beginning to learn so many new things and

participating in many interesting and worthwhile activities.

English Language Arts
All of the third grade classes will work on their balanced literacy approach to reading and writing. We will be writing “from the heart” in our writer’s notebook and publishing our stories in the Anne Hutchinson School Publishing Center.

Math
We work on many math topics throughout the term. The students will participate in hands on activities.

Problem solving is incorporated into our program as well.

Social Studies
Third graders have been investigating current events through the Times for Kids magazine.

Geography skills are being reviewed to help introduce our study of deserts.

Science
Our science program enables us to discover through experimentation. We focus on 3 major units in Science:
Chick Emryology, Magnets and Electricity & Rocks and Minerals
