Procedures:
- Hand students a copy of the situation and the task and ask them to read the
assignment and underline key words
- Discuss the required components of the task and highlight the different parts to
illustrate comprehension of the Task 3 requirements
- Students will read document 1 to themselves
- Students will pair together and discuss the main idea of the document
- After the shared discussion, the students will individually paraphrase the main points
of the document in two or these sentences
- Students will share their sentences with the entire group and discuss
commonalities
- Process will repeated for document 2
Assessment/ Evaluation :
Students will copy the shared group ideas on a separate sheet of paper and will bring
the sheet to the next session.
Ideas for other Language Learners:
- Focus on key task vocabulary
- Reinforce methods of understanding unfamiliar vocabulary by using context clues and
other techniques
- Assemble group ideas using a simple graphic organizer
