But What About the Other Drive Letters?
The system has been configured so that the default directory is
the users home directory. However, you will see from the list
that there are other drive locations: D (CD drive); C
(the computers hard drive); Desktop (a special folder
on the computers hard drive.)
Saving to either the home or shared network drives is the best
way to manage files since files saved to a hard drive live on that
particular machine. To access a file stored locally, you will need
to work from that machine only. Saving files to the network assures
immediate access to your work from any computer in the building.
USB: Teachers will have access to the USB port for Flash Drives.
CD drive: Copy, create and format CDs using this drive. CD Creator is a utility
to use for this function.
