Electronic Learning

The Waterford Early Reading Program was developed by the nonprofit Waterford Institute, whose mission is to provide every child with the finest education possible through the effective use of technology.

Based on eight years of research into how children acquire literacy skills, the developers of the Waterford Early Reading Program concluded that the key to ensuring reading success is early intervention, in kindergarten or even pre-school.

By overcoming the obstacles to literacy development early, the Waterford Early Reading Program works for all students, regardless of primary language or beginning level of literacy.

The Waterford Early Reading Program teaches those skills identified in research as essential to learning to read. It aligns the following key components into a balanced, comprehensive curriculum: Instruction, Assessment, Classroom Management, Professional Development, Parental Involvement and Technology.

NEW!!! Upcoming Product for Math and Science

The Waterford Institute will be releasing a new comprehensive courseware offering, Waterford Early Math and Science (WEMS). This software package is targeted at giving K-2 students a solid foundation from which to start a life long interest in math and science.

LHRIC staff will be reviewing the product soon and hope to begin offering demonstrations of WEMS to interested schools and districts shortly.

If you are interested in a demonstration or more information about either Waterford Early Math and Science or the Waterford Early Reading Program please contact us to arrange a meeting.
