AEF News Updates

Aavelin is coming to Ardsley Middle School!

Enter the lobby or commons area and catch up on today's activities, yesterday's scores and what's going on for the student body. Watch custom made programs and messages for the school or hear about news worthy events. The Ardsley Education Foundation is funding a new technology venture for Ardsley Middle School. The Aavelin Display System is a new innovative turn-key digital signage and messaging system. This scaleable system will allow students to create content on existing computers and let the Aavelin player run the show. This will allow daily updating of broadcasts by the students and for the students.

The system is planned to be launched with 2 large flat screen televisions to be placed in central locations where students will be able to get updates on daily sporting schedules, team scores, interviews, student created shows and more. This pilot program will hopefully lead to future installations at Ardsley High School and potentially Concord Road.

With the continued support of the Ardsley community, we hope to have more innovative additions to our schools in the near future. Please consider making a donation to support these exciting endeavors.

AEF Ongoing Projects

COMMEMORATIVE BRICKS

The Ardsley Education Foundation is delighted to announce our continuing fundraising effort to install commemorative bricks along the walkway in the High School Courtyard. The bricks are part of the upgrades to the Courtyard with the completion of the District's construction project. All proceeds from the sale of the bricks have directly gone to enhancing the educational experience of students at all three schools.

Through the Foundation's administration of the Stephen O'Connell Memorial Fund, separate enhancements to the Courtyard also included benches and plantings. Please stop by the Courtyard when you visit the High School.

The Foundation is accepting orders for commemorative bricks via the order form available at the link on the top of this page. From this point forward new orders will be installed on an ongoing basis in keeping with demand.

VOLUNTEER FOR THE ARDSLEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS…

Last spring's A Night of Sweet Success was a wonderful evening - over 190 attendees, including many teachers and staff, came together to enjoy the evening of desserts, auction items and comedy. Our special thanks to our many sponsors, community members and families, for their very generous support, which ensured the success of our auction. It is the goal of the Foundation to plan new events that merge the spirits of giving and community.

In this fundraising period the Foundation was able to provide Concord Road School with a portable stage, projection system and portable sound system.

At Ardsley Middle School, the Foundation was pleased to be able to provide funding for a new sound system, and a new fitness center, an integral part of the CAP program. The Middle School will be pioneering the Aaevlin Display System, and we eagerly await its introduction to our district. New benches will be installed this fall on the middle school grounds with funds from the Steve O'Connell Memorial fund.

At Ardsley High School, the Foundation was thrilled to purchase a new sound system that has so improved the presentation of many stage productions to date.

In addition, the Foundation will provide new smart boards to the School District thanks to a $12,000 grant from New York State recently announced by Assemblyman Richard Brodsky.

The timing is perfect. Thanks to your support of our fundraisers, many innovations and enhancements at Concord Road School, Ardsley Middle School and Ardsley High School are under way. Please consider joining the effort, whether you can spend a little or a lot of time. And bring your good ideas too!
