COMMEMORATIVE BRICKS UPDATE

The Ardsley Education Foundation is delighted to announce that at long last the commemorative bricks ordered received to date have been placed along the walkway in the High School Courtyard. The bricks are part of the upgrades to the Courtyard following completion of the District's construction project and all proceeds from the sale of the bricks have directly gone to enhancing the educational experience of students at all three schools.

Through the Foundation's administration of the Stephen O'Connell Memorial Fund, separate enhancements to the Courtyard also include benches and plantings. Please stop by the Courtyard when you visit the High School.

Now that the District has decided the bricks location, the Foundation can again accept orders for commemorative bricks. Order forms are available at the link on this page. From this point forward new orders can be installed on an ongoing basis in keeping with demand.

The Ardsley Education Foundation sincerely thanks the community for its support and patience during the construction-related delays and welcomes new members to assist in its mission of enriching the educational experience of all our children. Please call 693-6300, Ext. 7770 to become a volunteer.

VOLUNTEER WORK WITH ARDSLEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION SUPPORTS SCHOOLS… CREATES COMMUNITY SPIRIT TOO!

The timing is perfect. The beginning of the new school year brings with it a new planning cycle for The Ardsley Education Foundation and the opportunity for individuals, alumni, educators and local corporations to join together in support of this non-profit educational organization. Many innovations and enhancements at Concord Road School, Ardsley Middle School and Ardsley High School are the direct result of the work of Ardsley Education Foundation volunteers. Please consider joining the effort, whether you can spend a little or a lot of time. And bring your good ideas too!

In its last fundraising period the Foundation was able to provide Concord Road School with DVD display upgrades for many classrooms; as well as new televisions and a sound system upgrade. Also on order is a desktop recording system and listening center which meets New York State English language arts assessment criteria for the listening sections of tests for grades 3-8. In addition, the Foundation will provide scanners to compliment the new smart board purchases the School District made with $100,000 in New York State grant monies announced by Senator Nick Spano at the Foundation's Gala Event in March.

At Ardsley Middle School, the Foundation is pleased to be able to provide funding for two new computers in each of the four Special Education classrooms. And students of General Music will benefit this school year from the overall upgrade and refurbishment of the Keyboard Lab.

Major projects on the horizon include examining options for new sound systems for both the auditoriums at the High School and Middle School. Large projects like these can be funded in stages as donations make it possible.

Last year's Casino Night and Auction was a great success - over 175 attendees, including more than 25 teachers came together to enjoy the evening and each other's company. And the generous support of many corporate sponsors ensured the success of the Auction. It is the goal of the Foundation to plan new events that merge the spirits of giving and community.

Please call the Foundation at (914) 693-6300 Ext. 7770 and leave your name and number or email us at aef@ardsleyschools.org to join the ranks of volunteers committed to enhancing the learning experience of all students in the Ardsley School District!
