Text Box: The Concord Road School Student Council started the 2007 – 2008 year with elections for officers. The President of our student council is from Mrs. Steinberg’s fourth grade classroom, our vice president is from Miss Gardner’s third grade classroom and our secretary is from Ms. Pierorazio’s second grade classroom.
CRS Student Council will use the democratic process to organize our school to encourage kindness. Showing kindness to the earth, the student council is encouraging recycling. Each representative and alternate went back to classes with these notes:
1.  Each class needs a scrap bucket,
2.  Paper and brown cardboard are to go into the blue rectangular recycling box,
3.  Plastics with a 1 or 2 on the bottom within a triangle go into our large cylinders located in the cafeteria and by the main entrance,
Strips of paper for our kindness awards should come from scrap paper.

Showing kindness to those in need, we will be collecting coins again by Trick or Treating for UNICEF. The UNICEF orange boxes are available from the student council representatives and alternates. They will collect and count the coins. $1 can immunize a child against measles for life. $3 can provide a child with a pencil, paper pad and pen to use in a classroom. $12 can provide 20 packets of high energy biscuits to feed malnourished children. Text Box: 4– We are asking parents to call the attendance office when a child is out of school and not the classroom teacher. The attendance office will notify the teacher. Please remember that when your child returns to school, you must send in a note explaining why your child was out of school.
5– Fast facts; October 18 was the 25th day of school and we have had 7 fire drills, 2 school wide assemblies, 2 cultural arts programs, Ardsley Fire Dept. presentation to all children, photo day and 3 Open Houses.
