Text Box: Dear CR Parents,

I am very happy to report that we have had an excellent first few weeks of school. Children and adults are into their routines and both academic work and special
areas are off and running.

I would like to review a few things taking place in the school and to share some items to keep you informed.

1– Our first visit with Licenders was very successful. They did find a few cases and parents were contacted immediately. Children that had lice/nits and their classes were checked again by Licenders the next morning. Our nurse continues to check the few children involved. As of October 18 , we are lice free. Thank you for your donations to the PTA for more visits by Licenders. Licenders will be back to screen the entire school following the December, February, and April vacations. Please continue to monitor your own child's head and do not allow children to share hats.

2– The PPLT, a group comprised of parents, teachers, and administrators, had their first meeting on October 1st and reviewed many topics for the year. At this time, I would like to share one item with you. Last year after receiving feedback from parents and teachers, a decision was made by the PPLT that we would not have the parent visitation day during National Education Week, which is November 11-17, 2007. The school is working on other plans to share your children’s classroom experiences with you at different times throughout the school year.

3– Last years International day was a huge success but a number of parent volunteers did most of the work. Many of the parents who supported us last year have moved on to other schools and we are in need of a new parent committee who will take on this responsibility. If you would like to volunteer, please send an email to Mr. Soss at SossM@Ardsleyschools.org. We will not be able to keep this project going if we do not get parent volunteers.
