By helping each child develop the skills and familiarity with various tools and resources, the children learn a versatility that can assist them from now into adulthood. It furthers their excitement in a subject area and provides enrichment and reinforcement through self-directed learning.

In a society well versed in technology, it is little surprise just how comfortable some students are. On the other hand, some children are just getting ‘their feet wet’. Either way, all students are supported in their efforts by working with naturally infused activities that further Text Box: graph of anything they choose. Some popular choices: how many doors and windows are in the house; what games do their friends play; how many books have they read by author or genre. It’s a fun and creative way to develop math skills. (Tip: When completing the graph information, the ‘X’ axis will be the label at the bottom of your graph, while the ‘Y’ axis will go along the side of your graph.) Want to further support their graphing activities? A rousing game of battleship might be in order, whether it is the online version or a game on the shelf.

By working together to integrate technology in a meaningful way, we create an enriched environment that supports exploration, problem solving and creative learning. Until next time, have fun learning!

If you are interested in seeing the PowerPoint from our Board of Ed presentation which details the recommended changes, please visit the Concord Road school website.
