The famous person I chose was U.S. Olympic skier Julia Mancuso. She was born on March 9, 1984. Her birthplace is Reno, NV. Julia's hometown is Olympic Valley, California. She went to school at The Park City Winter School. She is 5'6" and 142 lbs. She competed in the Winter Olympics in 2006 and 2010. Julia has her own underwear line called "Kiss My Tiara".

She was only 15 when she took part in her first World Cup race at Copper Mountain in Colorado. When Julia wins a medal, she wares her tiara. Mancuso is a three time defending gold medalist for the GS. Her sister inspired her to start skiing. Julia's favorite event in the Olympics is the giant slalom because it is the most technical and difficult event. Julia had hip surgery in April 2006. She missed most of the preseason training.

In 2005 Julia got bronze in Super-G and in Giant Slalom, in 2006 Torino, Italy Winter Olympic Games she won gold in Giant Slalom. In the World Championships in 2007 Julia got silver in Super Combined and in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada she got silver in Downhill and in the Combined.
