September 2007
Each year
the PTSA is pleased to provide grants to fund projects which enrich the
learning experience for our students and teachers. The projects should
supplement the curriculum in some way by providing materials or resources not
covered in the school budget. Three
types of grants are available:
Mini-grants are for projects
costing a maximum of $200 per classroom and are intended to help teachers try something
different or purchase new materials/equipment to enrich the curriculum.
Grants are to cover expenses related directly to students and classroom
activities. We typically do not cover the cost of food or books.
Special
Project Grants are for larger amounts and are expected to benefit an
entire department or grade. Grants over $500 should benefit a department, a
grade, the entire school or district.
Dr. John J. Russell Renaissance Grant is a new single grant of $1,000 for an interdisciplinary
project. Named in honor of Dr. John J.
Russell, former Superintendent of Schools, the purpose of the grant is to
support the education and development of the whole student – the academic, the
artistic, the physical - the Renaissance student.
To apply for
any of the PTSA grants, please complete the form (Grant Application Link above) and mail it to:
Sharon Diamond, 1 Hall Place, Hastings on Hudson, NY 10706
Please do
not place this application in the PTSA mailbox in the school office. This will
delay processing.
The Grant
Committee meets periodically throughout the year to review applications. Please
send us your request as soon as you’re aware of the need. Even if you don’t
plan to use the money until later in the year, we’re better able to plan if we
have applications sooner rather than later.
We look
forward to receiving your proposals and learning about the exciting plans you
have for our students. If you have any questions, please call or email:
