The Presidential Campaign of 2008

This year, candidates are running for the highest elected office in our country- President of the United States.

The process of choosing the next President is complex and often confusing: primaries, caucuses, nominating conventions, campaigns, an election!

And what is the Electoral College? How does it fit into the Presidential selection? Is it really a "college?"

The story is told, from the announcement of candidacy through the inaugural ceremony, using historic photographs and web resources in Electing A President.

This web site was published in May 1995 by Erik Philipp, then a student at Eastchester Middle School, and Mr. Rick Donahue, the EMS Computer Technology teacher. Since then, the students and teachers of our school have contributed their talents to this ever evolving project.

Please email your comments- we do want to hear from you!
