Moon Rocks Are Here! Yes, here at EMS. For two weeks in December 2006, each student has the opportunity to view moon rocks and soil samples that were collected by United States astronauts during the Apollo lunar missions from 1969 to 1972. On loan from NASA, the collection consists of six lunar samples that differ from any found on Earth. Each specimen includes a description of its scientific importance and a brief history of its retrieval.

War On Soda Our yearly Health Fair is an exhibition of displays that relays information on assorted topics of critical importance to everyone. These posters are researched and constructed as group projects for our eighth grade Health classes. Here, the students share these eye-catching and instructive displays while relating their experiences in preparing for the annual fair.

The National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 to recognize the outstanding qualities of students' high academic achievement (92 average), citizenship, character and leadership. On May 22, 2006, the induction of eighty-seven eighth grade Eastchester Middle School candidates was held.

At 5:12 AM on April 18, 1906, the San Andreas fault in California shook violently. This was the San Francisco Earthquake! The quake was followed by a series of aftershocks and a fire, caused by broken gas mains, that burned out of control for days. With thousands dead, injuried or homeless, the city's destruction was nearly total. Here the story is retold in historic photographs in a 100 year commemoration.

ITangram Catt’s a Chinese puzzle that's been popular around the world for centuries. The Tangram uses seven geometric pieces to construct pictures- of a man bending, a bird flying, a cat standing or a double headed arrow- and now you can play online.

Water is vital to all life, but it is also beautiful in its many forms: water falls, rain showers, islands, marine life such as dolphins and rainbows. And that's what we celebrate in a series of fully animated paintings entitled Water's Art. You really should take a look!
     

Painting scenes with small brush strokes, using the primary colors of red, blue and yellow without mixing them, results in bright, fun and colorful Impressionistic Landscapes as those created by the eighth grade artists in Mrs. Iris Schechter's class.
